Interview Process
We want the interview process to be a positive experience for every candidate, and knowing what to expect can help you to be prepared and confident.
WWP strives to make the hiring process as seamless, direct, and non-stressful as possible. The information below includes the steps most commonly experienced by prospective teammates.
“I was volunteering at Carry Forward in my hometown of San Diego, and by the end of the event, I wanted to work for WWP! Five months later, I joined the Community Fundraising team and I’m incredibly grateful.”

Preparing for an interview is an important step. We want you to feel confident and ready, because we’re looking forward to learning more about you.
Empowering warriors and their families is at the center of everything we do. Show us your enthusiasm and give examples of how your background and skills align with our mission, goals, and core values.
At WWP, we refer to each other as teammates because we know it takes all of us working together – as one WWP. Tell us how you’ve collaborated with other teams and what the biggest takeaways were for you.
Depending on the position, you may lead a team or project. Be prepared to share your approach to leadership, how you navigated unexpected challenges, and how you inspired and motivated others.
We recommend contacting the WWP Resource Center and getting connected to the Warriors to Work® program prior to submitting an application. They will be able to assist you throughout the application/interview process and can provide valuable guidance to increase your chances of success.
If a position is no longer listed on our WWP Careers page, then we are not currently accepting applications or the position has been filled.
To set up alerts for future posted jobs, you can create a job alert. Visit Workday and select Sign In from the upper right corner of the page, then click Job Alerts and then Create Job Alerts. Follow the prompts in the pop-up form and click OK to submit.
After you’ve applied, we will send you an email to confirm that your information has been received. Our recruiters do their best to review the candidate pool for open positions in a timely manner. Due to the high volume of applicants for certain positions, it may take several weeks for the recruiter and/or hiring manager to complete this process. We appreciate your patience during the review process!
If you are selected for an interview, a recruiter will contact you directly to outline the next steps in the process.
If you are not selected to move forward in the process, you will be notified. We may still contact you about other opportunities in the future that align with your profile or interests. You can also update the information in your Workday Candidate Dashboard profile anytime.
Once you apply, you will receive an automated email confirming receipt of your application. Within a few weeks of submission, you will either be contacted for an interview or receive an update from the WWP Talent Acquisition team notifying you of your status.
Please note that email communication is transmitted through an applicant tracking system, and often email services may flag these emails as spam or junk. Please be sure to check your spam/junk folder.
To check on the status of your application for a position, please log into your Workday Candidate profile. Your application will either be noted as Received Submission (confirming receipt of your resume/information) or, Under Review (indicating that your information is either being reviewed by a recruiter or, has been sent forward to a hiring team). Please note that depending on the volume of applicants for a given position, your profile may be listed as Under Review for an extended period of time. However, once a decision has been made, you will receive a notification from the HR team either requesting an interview or, indicating that another group of candidates has been selected.
Please note that email communication is transmitted through an applicant tracking system, and often email services will flag these emails as spam or junk. Please be sure to check your spam/junk folder.
To update your information, please log into your Workday Candidate Dashboard profile to add, remove, or edit documents.
For current applications, please email any updated documents to: talentacquisition@woundedwarriorproject.org and they will be forwarded to the designated recruiter. Read the WWP legal disclaimer.
We appreciate your enthusiasm to speak with a teammate about careers with WWP; however, due to the high volume of requests, we’re unable to schedule appointments. Please submit your application through our WWP Careers page and a representative from our team will be in touch should an interview be requested.
If you are contacted by the HR team for an interview, this information will be discussed during the initial conversation with your recruiter.
The minimum requirements for positions are listed at the bottom of each job posting under the Education and Experience Requirements section. We encourage you to check that you meet these requirements before applying.
Please address your cover letter to Hiring Manager or Recruiter. Our team will ensure that it is received and reviewed by the appropriate individuals.
Student internships: We are actively seeking motivated candidates who are eager to make an immediate and measurable impact in the veteran community. Our internships are designed for degree-seeking students, primarily available during the summer, and based in Jacksonville, Florida. All internship opportunities will be regularly posted on our WWP Careers website as they become available.
