Mary Tallouzi’s life was forever changed when her son Daniel was wounded during a mortar attack in Iraq in 2006. She became his devoted caregiver, navigating two years of hospitals and recovery before Daniel tragically passed in 2009 from his injuries. As a Gold Star Mother, Mary experienced firsthand the challenges and sacrifices faced by military families and caregivers. Out of that pain grew her purpose: to ensure no veteran or caregiver faces their journey alone.
Today, she advocates for stronger systems of care and greater compassion for those who serve. Through her work as a speaker and storyteller, Mary shares her journey to inspire communities, organizations, and leaders to better support veterans, caregivers, and their families.

“I had a huge swing in emotions during your talk – from sadness to joy – but ultimately, I landed on hope. Hope that each of us can have an impact on someone’s life, although I think your impact is probably hard to match.”

“Mary was punctual, communicative, and easy to work with leading up to the event. She clearly knew her material and delivered it with confidence and heart. One of the central themes of our event was “connection,” and she did a fantastic job weaving that into her talk in a meaningful way. She was an absolute all-star and truly knocked it out of the park!”
